Vendor Spotlight – APril Hawthorn

How did you get started at Vintage Marketplace?

I first joined Vintage Marketplace in August of 2020. My daughter and I were shopping in the store one day when I inquired about getting a booth, and before long I was set up as a vendor. I spent two wonderful years here before taking a three year break while my husband and I traveled the states in our RV. My love of vintage and antiques goes back much further though – I grew up visiting shops with my Grandma Betty, and that’s where my passion for collecting and sharing unique treasures truly began. I’m so happy to be back at Vintage Marketplace and excited to connect with customers old and new!

Do you have an area of specialty?

Yes! I have a real love for refinishing furniture – there’s something so rewarding about bringing new life to a piece while honoring its character and history. I also enjoy curating a mix of vintage, antique and primitive items. My goal is to create a collection that feels warm, timeless and full of stories, so there’s always something special waiting to be discovered.

What is your favorite part of reselling?

My favorite part is the treasure hunt – finding those special pieces with history and character. But just as meaningful is helping them find a new home where they’ll be loved and appreciated all over again. There’s such joy in connecting the right item with the right person!
