Vendor Spotlight – Aimee Roberts

How did you get started at Vintage Marketplace?

My name is Aimee Roberts and I am a new vendor here at Vintage Marketplace. I grew up in a family that loved to thrift and decorate. Summer weekends spent with my grandparents as a child always included going to yard sales or helping bag up customer orders at my Grandpop’s flea market table on Saturday mornings. I have taken that love of history, collecting and decorating with me throughout my life. I actually started as a way to downsize some of the things I have gathered over the years, knowing that I would be downsizing houses in the near future, but I have always known that this is something I wanted to do from a young age.

Do you have an area of specialty?

I wouldn’t say I have an area of specialty. I find things that I love and make me happy, and I hope others will find interesting. Having said that, I also love looking for things that others want to see in my space and watching how the style of my booth can evolve over time.

What is your favorite part of reselling?

I love it all! It’s hard to pick my favorite thing. I would say that I especially love the thrill of the hunt. Finding things that evoke a memory that I know my customers will get excited about is fun for me. Having a space of my own is a creative outlet, and finding new homes for old things with a long history is a type of sustainable living that I love sharing with others. The people and environment here at Vintage Marketplace is positive and welcoming.

What is Trending For You Right Now?

Special hard-to-find vintage is really having a moment. As for me, blue and white anything, along with small unique vintage furniture pieces that have a classic feel, and mugs – they always seem to sell out!
