Vendor Spotlight – Trudie Wildasin

How did you get started at Vintage Marketplace?

I have been a vendor at Vintage Marketplace since we opened in 2018. It all happened by chance. I was driving by the store one day and saw a sign saying coming soon which caught my eye, so I stopped in to see what it was all about. I had recently moved into a smaller home and had quite a bit of home decor that I did not have room for so I thought I could rent a space to sell all my extra stuff. I rented a small booth and thought I could not fill it up, so I asked my sisters if they wanted to join me. It started with me and my 2 sisters sharing a booth. We named out booth She Shed. Six years later and my sisters have moved on, and I now have 3 booths!

Do you have an area of specialty?

I have a thoughtfully curated mix of home decor and kitchen items along with clothing and some vintage items. I add new items weekly so there is always something new to discover in my booths. Over the years I have added Our Back Porch Candles, a local candle company, artisan soaps, lotions and bath bombs and Myra bags. I even created my own private label candle scent called Lavender Dream!

What is your favorite part of reselling?

I enjoy meeting and talking to the customers and hearing about how they plan to use the items they are purchasing. The relationships I have formed with my fellow vendors has been great and I have gained so much knowledge from them.

The fun part for me is hunting for the items I want to sell. Whatever speaks to me is what I put in my booth.

Vintage Marketplace is my Happy Place!
