Vendor Spotlight – Kimberly Grace

How did you get started at Vintage Marketplace?

I have been an artist my whole life, from the time I was little and loved to paint and draw, to growing up and becoming a jeweler and stained glass artist. For nearly 30 years I had an art gallery and gift shop in another state, and was instantly impressed with the professionalism and energy of Vintage Marketplace. My first impression was that they really care about their vendors and customers, and I was excited to get a booth. My love of vintage has grown, and I have learned a lot about appreciating the timeless beauty of vintage items.

Do you have an area of specialty?

I have always loved quality furniture, and love bringing out the potential in older pieces that need a little TLC to be appreciated. I have spent countless hours stripping, sanding, painting and refinishing pieces to bring out their beauty and potential. Eclectic Grey has a great line of paint, and Iron Orchid Designs has a wonderful line of items available at Vintage Marketplace to use on furniture as well. In addition to furniture, you will find small stained glass, handmade jewelry, wall art and vintage clothing in my booth. I focus on high quality, good condition items that have timeless appeal.

What is your favorite part of reselling?

I think Vintage Marketplace is a really special place, and I love the camaraderie between many of the vendors and the owner. Andrea of Hazel & Sage is often helping customers in the store, and I work on featuring many of our vendors items on our website, VintageMarketplaceFC.com. I love to see our customers excitement when they find a beautiful, unique item online or in store that is in great condition for a good price. We have special events often, and I love being a part of the creative and encouraging group of people who love finding, fixing and saving beautiful items from the past that are uniquely beautiful.

Vintage Marketplace is such a popular vintage mall that I find I am often at my booth restocking a couple of times a week, so the theme may change, but I keep the quality of items consistent. I love seeing the enthusiasm of customers when they come in and find something really unique that they excited about. There is a dynamic and upbeat energy at Vintage Marketplace that is fun to be a part of.
