How did you get started at Vintage Marketplace?

I would come with Tina of The Vintage Botanical to help her with her booth at Vintage Marketplace after we got together. I’d had enough excess inventory with my antiques shop. So we decided that we’d get a booth together. About a year later, Alan came to us to let us know that he was moving and was giving up the big space in the back. Tina and I decided that we could really maximize that space and worked with Kim to get it.

Do you have an area of specialty?

I started buying and selling 35+ years ago; when I was still in high school. My specialty has changed over the years, but I started with Depression Glass. I do glassware, pottery, jewelry, and now just about anything! I still stick to my roots on glass and pottery.

What is your favorite part of reselling?

We addicts enjoy doing this to get our “high” on finding the cool stuff. But bringing items to the marketplace and knowing they are finding a new “forever” home is also a “high.” It’s so cool to see people appreciate things from the past. When I got started my clientele was 50+, today my clientele is in their 20s-30s. It’s so cool that young people find these vintage items cool!
