How did you get started at Vintage Marketplace?

I’ve always enjoyed digging through my grandparents’ storage areas and discovering their older items when I was growing up in Indiana. Throughout my 29 years working in the food industry in Indiana and Texas, there usually was an area where older dishes, service-ware pieces and textiles were kept and often forgotten. I enjoyed the creative process of figuring out how to repurpose these forgotten usable items in everyday use. When I started my small business in Houston, TX, I knew I wanted to focus on sustainable practices for my canned goods items I produce and sell at farmers markets. The same focus is applied to finding usable vintage items for reselling at Vintage Marketplace and some of the farmers markets that I participate in around the NOCO area.

Do you have an area of specialty?

Usable vintage houseware items including cookware, dishes, glassware, ceramics, storage containers, wall decor pieces, small footprint furniture, framed Colorado nature photos and textiles.

What is your favorite part of reselling?

Giving new life to vintage/antique items (25-100 years old), by finding creative ways to repurpose great quality items for everyday use and finding them a new home.
